Job Description

We are seeking a Workday Lead Systems Analyst to work on a team at our client site in Charlotte, NC. No 3rd party candidates can be considered for this role. The position is W2 hourly with Roth Staffing (Ledgent Tech is a division of Roth Staffing), with the rate range being $55.00 - $68.00 per hour. The role is slated to run for 10 months but could be extended.

Role Summary

This contingent role provides senior-level operational leadership for People Systems operations while internal leadership steps into project-focused work. The consultant will lead day-to-day HRIS production support, backlog management, and operational governance across Workday and adjacent platforms.

This role serves as the operational anchor for BAU People Systems production support, ensuring stable, secure, and reliable day-to-day operations across Workday and related platforms. This role is accountable for disciplined execution of intake, incident management, release management, documentation and change control, while ensuring data & process integrity in our HCM and overall system stability.

As a senior HRIS / Workday subject matter expert, the consultant partners with HR COEs, IT, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to optimize production support and identify targeted improvements, automation, and enhancements that improve efficiency and the end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all HRIS intake and the Workday Help Queue, including:

    • Configuration requests
    • Integration and data requests
    • Break/fix and production issues
  • Apply strong understanding of Workday data structures, business process frameworks, security, and integrations to triage requests and partner effectively with IT and vendors.
  • Manage and prioritize the BAU backlog, balancing operational stability with incremental enhancements.
  • Oversee Workday security intake and prioritization, coordinating with the HRIS security team to ensure timely delivery and adherence to governance standards.
  • Serve as the escalation point for production incidents, coordinating triage and resolution with internal teams and external partners.
  • Release Management, lead the bi-annual Workday releases

Lead end-to-end lifecycle for BAU and ad-hoc Workday enhancements, including:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Functional design
  • UAT strategy and test plan creation
  • Change control approvals
  • Deployment coordination
  • Hypercare and post-release validation
  • Drive consistent change control discipline, including adoption planning and readiness.

Operational Governance & Collaboration

  • Lead BAU and program transition calls, ensuring continuity as work shifts between operations and project streams.
  • Represent People Systems with our PL Technology partners in sprint planning and refinement sessions
  • Ensure operational priorities, risks, and dependencies are clearly communicated as the team supports project delivery.

Reporting, Audit & Controls

  • Support Report Requests (report writing, maintenance, scheduling)
  • Support and augment the team in reporting and audit readiness, including: Evidence collection and documentation support for controls and compliance

Required Experience & Skills

  • Senior-level experience in HRIS / People Systems operations, preferably in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong Workday functional knowledge, including data structures, business processes, security, reporting, and integrations
  • Demonstrated experience leading production support, intake, and operational governance
  • Experience partnering with HR COEs, IT, vendors, and program teams
  • Hands-on experience with change control, UAT, release coordination, and incident escalation
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Workday configuration, report writing and support, with exposure to high-growth or transformation environments.
